Senior cat brothers were forced to start over. A caring foster helped let their personalities shine in a new environment.

Bilbo Baggins and Super Ted are twelve years old. They have shared every single day of those twelve years – every nap, every meal, every slow and sleepy afternoon – side by side. When the home they had known their entire lives was suddenly gone, the world turned upside down overnight. Through all of it, through the confusion and the fear and the enormous upheaval of landing somewhere completely new, these two boys held on to the constant they still had left, each other.

Thankfully, The Stray Cat Club rescue was able to save the brothers after the only home they had ever been in was taken from them. While not easy in their new environment, with the loving care of their foster, they are turning a corner and beginning to regain their confidence and show the world their true self.

It took time for them to find their footing, understandably so. That’s the part people don’t always think about when a senior cat comes into care. It isn’t just about the adjustment. It’s grief. Super Ted is a gentle soul. He watches first and takes his time. But the cats who take their time are often the ones who, once they decide you’re safe, love you the most completely. Super Ted is that cat. He is still building his confidence, still settling into the knowledge that good things can be permanent, but he is getting there, one quiet day at a time.
